Every roofing installation begins once your inspection and proposal are complete. The installation job carries the approved scope, customer details, and technician assignment into one record. Your team can track this record from the first scheduling decision to job completion. Creating the job first keeps your production schedule organized. It also connects the installation directly to the inspection and proposal that came before it. Think of the installation job as the execution plan for approved work. It brings together the schedule, tasks, and crew assignment your technicians need on-site. Zuper’s job creation page groups everything you need into three panels. You enter the job title and schedule on the left. The center panel holds roofing-specific details, such as the job category and tasks. On the right, you assign technicians and link the customer record. Complete the mandatory fields, and Zuper makes the job visible right away. It appears on your dispatch board and the technician’s mobile app. Once your crew begins work, job status updates, notes, and completed tasks flow back into the same record. This gives you a complete history from approval through installation.

Tips and best practices

  • Customization: Your administrator can go to Settings to add custom fields, for example, roof pitch, to capture installation-specific details.
  • Mobile sync: Changes sync to the Zuper mobile app immediately, so technicians always see the latest job details.
  • Permissions: Confirm your user role includes Create Job rights before you start.
  • Attachments: Use attachments for proposals, permits, and reports, in addition to photos.
  • Mandatory fields: Remember, you need either a due date or a start and end date to create the job.
Creating an installation job brings the approved scope, schedule, and crew together in one place. Once you save the job, it moves straight to your dispatch board and your field team’s mobile app. Your crew always works from the latest details.
